During March, dreams, illusions and delusions play a big role, not only because of Pisces but also because of the many aspects involving Neptune and its shift into Aries. Overall, we experience a significant shift from dreams to reality, on par with the seasonal shift into spring.
While we are busy dreaming and dipping our toes into various new directions, we are hit with reality checks throughout the month, making sure we aren’t wasting our time and staying grounded.
March 2nd – Mars enters Pisces 00°00’
On the second of March, Mars, the planet of determination, passion and drive, joins the Sun, Mercury and Venus in the sign of Pisces. Dreaminess, fantasy and spirituality become prominent, and with Mars, we might feel an extra push to work for our dreams and achieve our passions. Negatively, we might be spiralling down a path of delusion without realising it.
It could be a great time to finally take the leap into what you’ve been dreading, but it’s important not to act impulsively.
March 3rd – Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse in Virgo 12°51’-12°53’
The Full Moon in Virgo would be a great time to get your pursuits in order and push for things to be how you’d like them. With the Lunar Eclipse, the energy might get confusing, and you might be too picky; you might be closing doors, and later regretting it.
That said, the eclipse energy can be amazing to work with if you align your magic accordingly; it’s not ‘just another Full Moon.’ The eclipse can be seen as a quick cycle, in which the moon seems to travel from dark to full in just moments. This is where the belief in no control and chaos might come from: one moment the Moon is full, the next it’s dark. It’s a great time for letting go or transformative workings.
March 4th – Venus in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus
This aspect brings unexpected (positive) change to our home, which could be to our relationships, finances and creativity. It feels like our dreams are coming true.
Alternatively, it’s a great time to work on the changes you’d like to see, especially regarding material or financial matters. Even if it feels like a tiny, unimpactful first step, it can be the first domino leading to your dreams.
March 5th – Sun Pisces trine Jupiter Cancer
With the Sun in Pisces spirituality, dreams and illusions play a central role. In a trine with Jupiter in Cancer, it’s a great time to work on our spiritual workings or try out new paths to see if they, quite literally, feels right.
Additionally, we might see our dreams line up for us quite literally. We meet someone to discuss our spirituality or accidentally network our way into the small business idea we’ve been dreaming of.
March 6th – Venus enters Aries, Aries 00°00’
The homey, romantic and creative planet of Venus enters the fire sign, Aries. With Aries ruling Mars, this results in a passionate, strong energy, especially in our relationships. We should be careful of impulsiveness, coming on too strong and losing our temper. The opposite dynamic of the Mars-ruled Aries and the feminine planet of Venus can create a certain friction. Love and hate aren’t too different after all.
When Venus is in Aries, it’s considered in detriment because Aries is opposite to Libra, Venus’s domicile sign; this can make all Venusian aspects feel more challenging.
However, it’s a great time to use the hardheadedness to our advantage and push for the change we want to see within our home and our hobbies.
March 7th – Sun conjunction Mercury (R), Pisces 16°52’
The Sun conjuncting Mercury in Pisces puts a spotlight on our communication, and we might feel especially unheard in the unseen topics: dreams, our inner world and spiritual experiences. The negative comes from Mercury being retrograde, adding to the delusion (a retrograde is an optical illusion after all). We are quite literally being forced back to take another look at our big dreams and see why they aren’t working for us. The unrealistic might feel realistic, when it unfortunately still isn’t.
March 7th – Venus conjunction Neptune, Aries 01°16’
On the same day, Venus conjuncts Neptune in Aries. It further emphasises the day’s focus on dreams, creativity and taking action towards them. Romanticising our dreams and imagining our future aren’t all positive aspects, it’s important to be aware of being delusional, especially in our relationships, and not to act on every impulse. Trying out different paths can teach us a lot, but starting projects to abandon them later can only be a waste of time and resources.
March 8th – Venus conjunction Saturn, Aries 02°38’
The day after ‘dreaming big’, we’re forced to be realistic. It’s important not to let ourselves be demotivated by the failed trial and error of the day before. We might have dreamt of a future free from financial worries, only to be reminded of our worries today. A reality check might not feel great, but it can give us extra motivation in the long run; what is today doesn’t have to be forever. Today can be the baseline, the empty cup, or the bad habits that only leave more room for personal growth.
March 9th – Mercury (R) in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer
‘’What is the point of life?’’ ‘’What do I believe in?’’ All are great questions to ponder today. It’s a great time to write about your beliefs, learn new things that we’ve been interested in for a while, or try out a completely new path to challenge ourselves. Picking up a book or reading an article, knowing it will contradict your standpoints, can teach us so much about ourselves.
Spiritually, you might have been waiting for the perfect moment to dive into this new subject, learn more about certain folklore, history or spirits, or try connecting to ancestors or a new deck. It’s an amazing day for learning, researching and communicating.
March 10th – Venus in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius
This day can come with some intense feelings. We might experience change, transformation and passion. A small change can lead to ‘the perfect moment’, much like the butterfly effect, you might meet someone new or start a transformative project due to a small change in plans. In our relationships, deep conversations or new levels of intimacy can be achieved.
Spiritually, it might be interesting to look at the darker side of ourselves, our relationships, and transform and grow for the better.
March 11th – Jupiter Direct, Cancer 15°05’
On March 11th, Jupiter ends its retrograde and moves direct. Our beliefs, philosophies and truths might have been challenged during the retrograde, it’s important to look back on the confrontational moments and build upon them. Learning more about your beliefs and ‘why you believe in them’ can make you feel more secure. It’s important to figure out what ‘feels right’ instead of the purely logical aspects.
When a planet moves direct after retrograding, there is a period called: post-shadow. Since the planet has moved backwards, when it first moves forward again, it’s retracing the path it retrograded over. This means that until Jupiter is at Cancer 25°09’ (around June 6th) we haven’t left the post-shadow phase, and even though the planet is direct, we might still feel confrontation and challenge as if the planet is in a retrograde-like state. Especially in the topics that came up during the retrograde.
March 15th – Mercury (R) conjunction Mars, Pisces 10°02’
On the halfway mark, Mercury conjuncts Mars in Pisces. Since Mars is a confrontational planet and Mercury is about communication, we might experience friction regarding dreams, delusions, illusions and spirituality. Simply trying to get your point across or explain a simple topic might lead to an argument. Due to Mercury’s retrograde, topics we’ve buried before, dreams that have been deemed unachievable, and goals we’ve pushed aside might be resurfacing.
March 18th – Venus in Aries square Jupiter in Cancer
With this aspect, we might be butting heads and feeling stagnation in our relationships and at home. We might feel like our creative pursuits have no purpose and are a ‘waste of time.’ We might be questioning our beliefs and our place in the world: ‘’What are we working towards?’’ ‘‘What are we doing?’’
March 18th – Sun in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus
While we personally experience stagnation, unexpected change may come in, well… unexpected places. While we get mentally confronted with purpose, real change happens to our dreams and home, balancing out the two opposite energies.
It’s a great time to make a first step toward achieving a goal. Whether it’s looking into different schools, jobs, or skills that will help you later, the first step is sometimes all it takes to get the domino going. Magically, we can equally use this energy.
March 19th – New Moon in Pisces, Pisces 28°26’
On March 19, it’s time to take a look at our dreams. We have experienced stagnation and unexpected change, and it’s important to reflect on what works and what doesn’t. Maybe your preferred method of divination is stagnating your progress in elsewhere. If you keep going back to the comfortable, you can’t take the leap. Possibly, some of your dreams aren’t realistic anymore and are only taking up energy better used elsewhere.
March 20th – Sun enters Aries, Aries 00°00’
The ball of fire enters the sign of war, this day might feel extra fiery; comfortable for fire signs, perhaps less for those who lack fire. When the Sun enters Aries, it’s considered exalted, meaning it’s being amplified for the positive and negative.
If you don’t adapt well to change, this fast-moving energy might feel uncomfortable. However, it’s important to realise the potential, it’s an amazing time for starting new projects and making progress. Especially after the New Moon in Pisces, where we hopefully gained insight into what to leave behind, the 20th serves as the perfect day to dip your toes in the new directions you’ve discovered.
March 20th – Mercury Direct, Pisces 08°29’
This further emphasises the energy of this day, during the retrograde, we’ve been confronted with our mindset, spirituality, and dreams and with what works and what doesn’t. Now that Mercury is direct, we have learned from our mistakes and can use the Sun’s energy to move forward in the right direction.
March 20th – Spring Equinox / Ostara
The start of spring further symbolises potential, new beginnings and fertility. Magically, it’s an amazing time to use this energy in our magical work!
March 22nd – Mars in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer
The passionate planet of Mars in the dreamy sign of Pisces trines Jupiter and results in great potential. We can align our dreams with what ‘feels right’ and make real progress and growth using Jupiter’s abundant energy.
March 22nd – Sun conjunction Neptune, Aries 01°50’
More dreams, illusions and big plans play a central role. This energy reaches a peak, we might want to do everything, dip our toes everywhere just to abandon it later or spend our energy in impulses rather than dedication.
If you’re confident in your path, it marks a great day for magical work, especially where fire energy and dedication play a role. Even doing something small can be greatly amplified by this conjunction!
March 25th – Sun conjunction Saturn, Aries 04°43’
Towards the end of the month, we get a reality check. Pisces isn’t known for its realism, and combined with Aries, we might get too impulsive or ahead of ourselves. Saturn, known for realism, is here to sit you down and impose boundaries. This is what works, this is what doesn’t, and it’s up to us to adjust accordingly. It’s important not to get demotivated, but neither to throw a tantrum and give up. Perhaps during the month you had extra time for your hobbies, but now suddenly the workflow jumps up, and you’re forced to dedicate more time. It’s not a time to get frustrated at your job and the reality of day-to-day life, but rather to adjust. Maybe hours of scrying don’t fit your schedule, but observing the birds during your work break might. It’s all about adapting to reality and moving forward.
March 25th – Sun in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius
This same day, because of the Sun’s conjunction, we aren’t only hit with an uncomfortable reality check but also a forceful look inwards. This can come with self-doubt: ‘’If I can’t do this or use all my time doing that, I’ll fail, or I’ll never improve.’’ It’s important to give yourself grace and simply being aware of this energy can relieve some of the anxiety that comes with it.
March 30th – Venus enters Taurus, Taurus 00°00’
At the end of the month, Venus moves into its domicile sign of Taurus. We can expect homey and comfortable energy. Perhaps after the dreamy and fiery influences, we can look back on the month, cuddled up on our couch with a cup of tea and consider it a meaningful rollercoaster.
